SOUTH BARBER 60, STAFFORD 14

KIOWA – South Barber quarterback Trevor Rooks passed for six touchdowns and rushed for two scores  in the Chieftains’ 60-14 Eight-Man 2 playoff victory over the Stafford Trojans. South Barber outscored the Trojans 38-6 after halftime.

Stafford (7-3) won the first football playoff game in school history against South Haven.

“We’re proud of the these guys who fought to the very end,” said Stafford coach Taylor Bauman. “They overcame adversity and gave it everything they had. It’s a great group of young men. It’s not the finish we were hoping for.”

South Barber’s Neal Gugelmeyer caught three TD passes, Caden Rathgeber two and Gage Cantrell one. Gugelmeyer and Rathgeber intercepted passes and Emilio Perez and Cantrell recovered Stafford fumbles.
