Coyotes upset Tabor in KCAC baseball final

No. 6 seed Kansas Wesleyan (22-17) continued its upset trend by surprising Tabor 13-5 and 8-7 in Monday's KCAC baseball championship games. Kansas Wesleyan won five consecutive games after losing its KCAC opener at the Great Bend Sports Complex. The Coyotes will find out where they travel Thursday for the NAIA baseball regional.

COYOTES 8, BLUEJAYS  7 (G11) – Haydn Brown drilled a 2-run homer to bring home William Dryburgh with two out in the 10th inning to rally the Coyotes. Tabor's Rudolfo Vasquez homered in the 10th.

A misplayed bunt by Kevin Esquilin Cruz sparked a 3-run seventh inning. Tabor's Kasey Weems homered for the second time for a 6-5 lead. A bases-loaded walk tied it 6-6.

COYOTES 13, BLUEJAYS  (G10) – Jaret Cable drove in three runs and Josh Sandoval, Jalen Jones and Kevin Esquilin each drove home two runs.  

The Coyotes upset Ottawa 6-4 and McPherson 4-2 Sunday. Ottawa (30-6) won the regular-season baseball  title. No. 3 seed Tabor upset KCAC regular season champion Ottawa 4-3 in Saturday’s winner’s bracket final.
