Two GBMS runners place first; 7th girls place first

Great Bend Middle School 8th-grader Kaiden Esfeld places first at Haysville.


HAYSVILLE — Great Bend Middle School cross country runner Kaiden Esfeld kept his perfect record intact and the Panther middle school 7th-grade girls won their fourth consecutive meet at Haysville.

Esfeld captured the boys 8th-grade 2-mile (11:01) to finish 1:41 ahead of the runner-up finisher. Other Panther finishers were Moses Ramirez, 36th, 15:37; Brendyn Schroeder, 45th, and Carlos Herrera 47th.  

The Great Bend Middle School 7th-graders won the team trophy for the fourth consecutive meet. GBMS 7th-grader Eliana Jackson placed first (6:16) followed by runner-up Addy Nicholson (6:21); Daizy Gomez, ninth; Clarissa Bashor, 17th; Clara Vasquez, 19th; Brooklyn Ramsey, 20th; Abi Miller, 25th; Teagan Mason, 26th, Yadira Alcala, 28th; Melanie Gonzalez, 29th; Melisa Gonzales, 48th; and Kiersten Ruble, 49th.  

Kaden Deines led the 7th-graders in 13th in the mile (6:25) followed by Braylon Moore, 27th; and Pedro Enriquez, 44th.  

Eighth-grade girls runner Haley McCormick finished fourth (14:17) followed by Reagan Huslig, 10th; Dennise Chavez, 19th; and Anna Campbell, 22nd.
