Oilers earn All-Central Prairie honors

Central Plains all-staters Brynna Hammeke and Kassidy Nixon earned first team All-Central Prairie League basketball honors. The Oilers (24-1, 7-0) captured a state record eighth consecutive state basketball title with a 50-38 victory over Rexford-Golden Plains.

Hammeke (19.5 ppg, 4.3 steals, 3.5 assists) and Nixon (11 ppg, 8 rpg, 4.6 asssists, 4.2 steals) led the Oilers to an unbeaten Central Prairie League season for the seventh straight season. The Oilers have swept 56 consecutive CPL games.

Also named on the first team are Ellinwood’s Brittany Simpson (23 ppg, 5 rpg, 4 steals, 3 assists), St. John’s Darby Smith and Heidi Fisher and Victoria’s Melany Huser.
