LAWRENCE (AP) — Markieff Morris had 14 points and nine rebounds and Thomas Robinson added 12 points and 10 rebounds, leading No. 7 Kansas to a 90-59 rout of Division II Emporia State Tuesday night.
Marcus Morris and Travis Releford also had 12 each in the victory over the lower-division Hornets.
Kansas opens its regular season Friday night against Longwood.
Christian Jackson led Emporia State with 18 points.
Point guard Josh Selby, the No. 1 prospect in the nation, sat on the bench in street clothes while awaiting word from the NCAA regarding his status. Jeff Withey, the 7-foot sophomore, had his first action since breaking his foot in September. He played three minutes at the end of the first half.
