MANHATTAN — If you can't make it to Kansas State’s 2011 spring football game on Saturday, there are plenty other avenues to hear or view.
The Purple-White game will be broadcast live on radio over nine stations across the state and in the Kansas City Metro area, as well as for free online at k-statesports.com, K-State Sports Network officials announced Wednesday.
A special pre-game show will open the broadcast at 12:45 p.m., while kickoff is set for 1:10.
The voice of the Wildcats, Wyatt Thompson, and former K-State quarterback Stan Weber will call the action with Matt Walters providing updates from the sidelines.
Live Gametracker statistics and a live in-game blog of the contest will be available via the official website of Kansas State Athletics, www.k-statesports.com while free audio play-by-play coverage is also available online.
Tickets for the spring game are priced at $5 while K-State students and children under the age of two will be admitted at no charge. To purchase tickets, visit k-statesports.com or call the K-State Athletics Ticket Office at 1-800-221-CATS. Both ticket booths at the stadium will also be open on gameday beginning at 10 a.m.
Students will need to present their student ID’s at the east side ticket booth at Bill Snyder Family Stadium and enter the stadium through Gate M.
Parking for the event is free and both the west and east lots of the stadium will open at 10 a.m. prior to the game. Fans are encouraged to park in the west lots as seating inside the stadium will be limited to the west and south endzone sections. Suite holders on the east side will have access to their suites for the game, and stadium gates will open at 11:30 a.m.
K-State opens the 2011 season on Sept. 3 as it hosts Eastern Kentucky for the third annual K-State Family Reunion. Season tickets are currently on sale for as little as $21 per game.
