WASHINGTON (AP) — NHL goals leader Alex Ovechkin returned to the Washington Capitals' lineup Saturday night against the Buffalo Sabres.
Ovechkin missed Thursday night's game against Minnesota after suffering a lower-body injury Tuesday night against Columbus.
He leads the league with 43 goals and is tied with three players — including linemate Nicklas Backstrom — for the points lead with 67.
Ovechkin scored two goals in each of his last two games, both Washington wins.
Minus Ovechkin, the Capitals lost 2-1 to the Wild.
