PHOENIX (AP) — The Phoenix Suns have waived swingman Mickael Pietrus after reaching a financial agreement with him.
The move was announced by the team Thursday afternoon and lowered Phoenix’s roster to 14 players.
In July, Pietrus exercised a player option to return to the Suns this season for a $5.3 million salary.
Pietrus underwent minor right knee surgery in July after the French national team declared him unable to play.
He also missed the final 12 games of the NBA season last year because of a quadriceps-tendon strain near the same knee.
