October is National Physical Therapy Month and Advance Therapy and Sports Medicine is celebrating by hosting its annual food drive for the Great Bend Food Bank. If anyone would like to contribute, stop by the office, 3715 10th in Great Bend, and drop off any food items in the lobby. “We would be forever grateful and we know that many others in our community will be grateful as well,” said owner Teresa Malone.
“Also, you probably know by now that we treat a wide variety of musculoskeletal conditions,” she said. “You may not know that you can come see us directly without a doctor referral in the future.”
In Kansas, patients are able to see their physical therapist directly with no referral required.
“We will work to get you in quickly, and will always communicate with your doctor,” she said. “If your therapist assesses you and determines that you need to see your physician, we will communicate that promptly and coordinate your care with you.”
