BCFB holds annual meeting in GB

Courtesey photo Barton County Farm Bureau honored Circle K Farms as BCFB’s Farm Family of the Year at its 105th-annual Meeting on Aug. 19. Circle K Farms has been selected as one of KFB’s Farm Families also.

The 105th annual Meeting of the Barton County Farm Bureau took place on Aug. 19 at Long’s Pumpkin Patch northeast of Great Bend.

Special guests included Matt McCabe, district field service manager, Jim Schmidt, seventh district State Board member, Brett Fairchild, state representative, and Jackie Mundt, Vote FBF director for District 7.

Guest, Jadynce Schroeder, shared her musical talent with the 85 attendees prior and during the breakfast prepared by Tom Burns. The Barton County Farm Bureau Association’s 2023-2024 Board of Directors are Melissa Baldwin, Kendra Brummer, Dodge Ellegood, Matthew Gerritzen, Connie Hughes, Roger Long, Dara Prescott and Kyle Schartz

Recipients for the 2023 BCFB honors were recognized. Awards included: Circle K Farms, Farm Family of the Year; Cottonwood Extenstion District agent Alicia Boor, Friend of Agriculture; and the Samuel and Dorain Witte families, and Kevin and Julie Kramp, Century Farm recipients.

Purple Wave was the 2023 sponsor for the event. Door prized donated by Purple Wave, Golden Belt Feeders  and D&E Silage Company were provided.
