CPI employees help food banks

CPI Qualified Plan Consultants held its 6th Annual Mentor Food Drive through the month of May, and achieved its most successful food drive to date.
CPI employees donated 1,461 items for Barton County food banks, or nearly four items for each employee. Half of this amount was donated to the Great Bend Food Bank and the other half was split between the Hoisington and Ellinwood food banks.
This year’s food drive was chaired by Daniel Kiewel and Lynae Curtis. Through their efforts and the efforts of the entire CPI Mentor group, the Food Drive surpassed all other years’ records.
“Our Mentor Group researched and found out that the summer time is the time when the area food banks typically get the least amount of donations,” Curtis said. “So we changed our drive from the holiday season to now to help out when it was most necessary.”
