STAFFORD — Larabee Dinosaur Park is now open to all ages and stages. It has already been viewed by many people far and wide. Sandy outdid herself this year! Keep in mind the dinosaurs with glowing eyes are the “PEOPLE EATERS”!
Last Monday, families with children 0-5 years, really enjoyed the new dinosaur toys and the park! It was a noisy, noisy morning with dinosaurs roaring, dings and beeps from the grocery store and children playing and enjoying it all. This is the stuff that makes Sandy’s day!
Who knew about 60 years ago, I would be writing a weekly column for the Great Bend Tribune? Certainly not Miss Earles! (an SHS insider joke) It does give me the opportunity though, to ask a question and “Unearth a Story” that has bothered me for all those years. Does anyone have the recipe for the Chicken Noodle Soup created so deliciously at Suiter’s Restaurant in the ’60s? I know there are still people who remember the great dining experience at Suiter’s on South Patton Road where I believe the Sarocha Thai Restaurant is now.
What does that have to do with the Library? It would make for a Very Happy Librarian! No Seriously – special dishes served in homes and restaurants across the country are what prompts good memories. Larabee Library has many local and national cookbooks that will help you bring that memory to life.
This Tuesday night, June 23, is another night for Recently Read. I am always amazed at the variety of books and authors we talk about! Come join us at 5:30 p.m. for a very fun evening.
On June 30 at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m., the Kansas Wetlands Education Center is coming to help us “Unearth a Local Story” with a video and book about Cheyenne Bottoms. They will entertain and educate us with games, resist-art, and a wildlife guest. Bring your children and enjoy a “cool hour” at Larabee Library.
Dinosaur Park will be open for the next 3 weeks at the same time.
