The University of Kansas Health System announced the addition of obstetrician and gynecologist Veerayyagari Annapurna, MD, to the care team at the Medical Pavilion at its Great Bend Campus. Dr. Anna provides a full range of women’s health care and is passionate about improving the quality of women’s lives through every phase of life.

Dr. Anna practiced in Great Bend in 2018 and 2019 and is returning after spending the past two years in Wichita. “I am looking forward to the family atmosphere of the community and the health system, which is what I like most about Great Bend,” she said.

Comprehensive care is a particular focus of Dr. Anna’s practice, beginning with a woman’s onset of menstruation through childbearing, menopause and beyond. She is board-certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology and has more than 20 years of experience helping women with high-risk pregnancy, family planning services, infertility management, hormone replacement and more.

Dr. Anna earned her medical degree in India and completed her residency in Michigan. She will begin seeing patients Jan. 3.

Dr. Anna joins Jodi Henrikson, MD, and Sheila Hein, APRN, on the OB/GYN team at the hospital. Family medicine providers Micca Schneider, MD, and Jonathan Pike, MD, offer obstetrics care at St. Rose Medical Pavilion.
