KAPA & KRMCA present Driver Of The Year Awards

Rex Hahn, Eakin Enterprises, Larned, KAPA Driver of the Year Winner

Year awards on Jan. 15, 2016, in Overland Park at the KAPA-KRMCA 49th Annual Joint Convention. Each recipient was awarded a $250 cash prize, recognition at the KAPA-KRMCA 49th Annual Joint Convention award ceremony, personal plaque and company plaque as well as a Driver of the Year bumper sticker to display on their trucks.
KAPA Driver of the Year winner was Rex Hahn. “Rex is a great guy and a very dependable asset to our company. He has logged over 1.8 million accident free miles for us all while answering to the call of duty no matter what time of day or night it is,” says Chad Eakin, President of Eakin Enterprises. “His safe driving skills are second to none. He has involved himself with training new hires and assisted with dispatching when called upon. We can confidently call on Rex to complete the job at any time and look forward to him continuing to be an anchor with our trucking operations.”
KRMCA Driver of the Year winner was Merle Biehler. “Merle is an awesome, hardworking, and great guy,” says Chad Eakin, President of Eakin Enterprises.” He has a willingness and desire to take care of our customers in a big way. He is a “there when you need him” guy and has been since 2002. He is definitely a real boost and a leader to our operations. Merle is a big reason for our success!”
Along with the Diver of the Year awards, KAPA-KRMCA announced the winners of the 18th annual Morgison Safety Program. This program was named after Harold Morgison, the first chair of the committee. The program ran from Oct. 1, 2014 to Oct. 1, 2015. The top winners of the award of each category are: 2015 KAPA Morgison Safety Award: APAC Kansas Inc. Shears Division, Quartzite Quarry; 2015 KRMCA Morgison Safety Award: Midwest Concrete Materials, Manhattan Plant.
