Bill Nicholson of Hoisington was recently installed as President of the Kansas Funeral Directors Association at the KFDA Convention held May 11-13, at the Capitol Plaza Hotel in Topeka.
Mr. Nicholson received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration from Kansas State University and his certificate of Mortuary Science from the University of Kansas. He is a licensed funeral director and embalmer, and is owner along with his son, Mike Nicholson, of Nicholson-Ricke Funeral Home in Hoisington and Bryant Funeral Home in Great Bend.
Bill is a member of the First United Methodist Church of Hoisington; a member and past Master of Masonic Lodge #331 A.F. & A.M. Hoisington; and a member and past president of the Hoisington Chamber of Commerce. He served on the Hoisington City Council, and the Hoisington USD #431 Board of Education (Past President) and is a former member and past president of Kiwanis Club.
Bill resides in Hoisington with his wife Pattie. He has a son, Mike Nicholson, of Great Bend; two step sons, Barry Tarlton, of Woodstock, Ga., Kris Tarlton, of Hoisington; and eight grandchildren.
Other KFDA officers elected include Shane Brown of Gardner as President-Elect; Sam Steiner of Junction City as Vice President; and Adam Rentschler as Secretary/Treasurer.
