Haley Gleason and her colleagues at St. Rose Health Center realize families face scheduling difficulties when trying to juggle OB-GYN appointments so that family members can attend too.
Therefore, Gleason and two other specialists will have expanded Thursday hours to accommodate fathers and other loved ones.
Beginning July 20, Gleason will see obstetrics and gynecology patients from noon to 7 p.m.
“Not only does this include the traditional lunch hour but the time between 4 and 7 p.m. will be especially attractive to families,” said Gleason, advanced practice registered nurse. “We hope this promotes more family involvement.”
Services include low-risk OB follow-ups; OB-GYN post-operative exams; fetal heart monitoring; and ultrasounds, including Hello Baby 4D procedures. Gleason also will offer pelvic exams and PAPs during the expanded hours.
“I have always had a special interest in women’s health,” Gleason said. “I can’t tell you how excited we are to offer these services during times that work best for families.
“We know how difficult it can be for parents to juggle their busy home and work schedules for medical appointments,” she continued. “These new hours could alleviate some of those concerns.”
In addition to Gleason, the women’s health team includes Lacey Kern, registered diagnostic medical sonographer; and Melanie Krier, BSN, RN, who is certified in advanced fetal heart monitoring.
All three work in conjunction with OB-GYNs at Hays Medical Center, the sole owner of St. Rose. These physicians are Joel Fort, M.D.; Lee Hodny, M.D.; and Timothy Hoskins, M.D.
“We have easy access to all the OB-GYNs at HaysMed,” Gleason commented. “Test results and other information can be shared immediately with this great team of physicians. St. Rose patients are fortunate to have them providing professional and compassionate care.”
Each of these physicians sees patients weekly at the HaysMed Specialty Clinic at St. Rose.
Gleason earned her master’s in nursing at the University of Cincinnati, following her undergraduate nursing education at Fort Hays State University. She is board certified by the American Nurses Credentialing Center and licensed by the Kansas State Board of Nursing.
Gleason sees patients during regular hours for a wide variety of conditions and diseases, including women’s health issues, at St. Rose Family Medicine and Convenient Care Walk-in Clinic.
Zena Jacobs, St. Rose executive director, said patients had been requesting hours that better accommodate women’s health issues.
“These expanded hours with a first-class team of professionals is just one more example of St. Rose and HaysMed listening to patients,” Jacobs said. “We align ourselves with HaysMed to offer as many services as possible here at St. Rose. We will continue to bridge gaps in local health-care services.”
St. Rose Health Center specializes in primary care, prevention and wellness. Services include St. Rose Family Medicine, Convenient Care Walk-in Clinic, Great Bend Internists, Imaging, Cardiac Rehab, Physical Therapy, Golden Belt Home Health & Hospice and a comprehensive Specialty Clinic.
