The floor space may be smaller, but the merchandise is almost the same at the Gifts from the Heart gift shop at St. Rose Ambulatory & Surgery Center. It also is still conveniently located on the first floor.

The move down the hall was made after Central Kansas Medical Center became St. Rose on May 1.

"We are excited about this new location," said Stacy Hefley, St. Rose volunteer and marketing coordinator. "It is very convenient for everyone to stop in and take a look at all the items we have.

"For example, we have a great line of greeting cards that are affordable and not available anywhere else locally," Hefley commented. "And we stock trendy jewelry, purses, wallets, home décor, a variety of gifts and some birthday-specific items."

In addition, Hefley noted, the shop carries snack items, and the fountain soda machine is popular.

The gift shop is open from 9 a.m. 5 p.m. Monday through Friday and is staffed by volunteers.

"Most of our gift-shop volunteers have been here for many years," Hefley said. "It is great to have their experience, and all of us appreciate their willingness to donate time and energy to this important part of St. Rose. We encourage people in the community to stop in and browse any time."
