Sunflower Electric Power Corporation promoted Matt Peters to manager of business support systems.

Peters will be responsible for leading the organization by supporting end users and introducing, architecting, developing, delivering, and maintaining enterprise and business technology solutions. He will also provide leadership through guidance, mentoring, and coaching to enable the continuation of organization and employee performance.

A native of Beloit, Peters has been with Sunflower since 2016. Peters obtained a Bachelor of Science in Information Networking and Telecommunications: Web Design at Fort Hays State University. He began his career at Sunflower as a business support system specialist. In 2019, he was promoted to applications development analyst and to business support systems supervisor in 2021. Peters was instrumental in guiding a multi-year effort to move business systems from on-premise software solutions to industry leading cloud based systems. He and his team also lead a project to automate business software testing to prevent issues with software updates, ensuring minimal disruption of day-to-day business operations. Peters and his wife, Nicole, live in Hays with their children, Lexi and Landon.
