Giovani Dullovi opened the doors to Napoli Italian Restaurant inside Great Bend’s Highland Hotel on Monday morning, and promises an authentic Italian dining experience to diners in the area who are craving something a little different.
“Everything is fresh, including the noodles,” Dullovi said.
Dullovi has been in the restaurant business since he was a child in Milan, Italy, helping out in the kitchen when he was 10 years-old.  In 1999, at the age of 23, he and a brother immigrated to the Dallas area.  Once he had a foothold in the states, he began starting and running his own restaurants.  Currently, Dullovi also owns Italian restaurants in Garden City and Liberal. The new restaurant takes the place of what was formerly a coffee shop inside the hotel lobby.
The new owner of the Highland Hotel Ishwar Patel is a long time friend of Dullovi’s, and asked him to open a restaurant in the hotel, Dullovi said.
“The people here are really nice,” he said.  He was impressed with what Great Bend had to offer as a community, and agreed to make the investment.
Reservations are accepted for dinner.  The restaurant will be open everyday from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m.
