LaResa and Eugene Likes, owners of Great Bend Coffee, and Dennis Crouse, owner of Re-Perks coffee shop, have joined forces in an attempt to help make this stressful period just a little bit easier for a population of our community that we don’t want to be forgotten. Starting on Monday, both downtown businesses will offer a free, delivered meal to any senior 60+ years old, who for whatever reason has decided to self quarantine, or has decided to not go out so that they can avoid crowds and possible contact.

The businesses will prepare and deliver these lunches between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m., Monday through Friday directly to homes in Great Bend.

The best part of this community outreach is that seniors get to choose which restaurant’s special they would like to be delivered, sponsors said. They can choose the daily special from Great Bend Coffee or the daily special from RePerks. Both restaurants offer great food, great service and staffs that feel the need to give back to the community, they will said.

Participants will need to follow Great Bend Coffee and RePerks on Facebook as they post the specials daily, or individuals can call and check the daily special. The owners of both businesses said they would like to thank the community of Great Bend for the loyal support they have shown over the past year(s), and they feel compelled to do whatever they can to give back.

All offers are open to change or cancelation at any time; daily specials are not guaranteed. Both businesses support and encourage seniors to utilize “Meals on Wheels” and other options that are available within the community first, as this offer is directed purposely at those seniors that have made “staying home” their personal choice.

The Likeses and Crouse would encourage more businesses to find unique and creative ways to come together to help those that might need help during this unfortunate period.

When calling in an order, refer to the “60+ coupon offer.” Calls will be accepted between the hours of 7-11 a.m. and delivered between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m., starting Monday, March 23.
