Farmers Market opened Thursday

The Barton County Health Department released the following announcement:

We are excited to announce that the Farmers Market starts today, May 23rd, from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Jack Kilby Square on the corner of Lakin and Kansas. The market will run until October, weather and produce permitting, offering fresh veggies, fruits, jellies, jams, and various homemade items.

Today, we have strawberries and tomatoes available for the community to enjoy.

Additionally, we will begin accepting applications for the Senior Farmers Market Nutrition Program on June 3rd. Seniors aged 60 and up can stop by the health department to fill out an application.

Come and enjoy our open-air market! Looking forward to a fantastic season with all of you!
