Each year, the Extension Executive Board selects a supporter of the Extension programs to receive the Extension Appreciation Award. The 2011 award was presented recently to Aleta Ehrlich, Great Bend.
Ehrlich began her Extension involvement in 1976 when she was a charter member and the first president of the Twilighter Family Community Education Unit. She is still active in the group today and helps out each year when FCE provides snacks for fourth grade Kids’ Ag Day.
She served as treasurer for the County FCE council for many years and has participated in county, area and state meetings. She also attended a national FCE meeting in Vermont. Two terms on the program development committee and a term on the Executive Board complete Aleta’s volunteer resume’.
Besides her Extension involvement, Ehrlich is busy spending time with her family. She, and her husband Steve, have two grown children and three grandchildren.
