Charles (Chuck) and Charlene (Char) Brown of Great Bend celebrated their 60th anniversary on June 9.
Char Rowlands and Chuck Brown were united in marriage on June 9, 1957, at “The Little White Church (on the hill) in Rifle, Colo. Chuck was a high school football, basketball and strength training coach in Nebraska, Colorado, South Dakota and Kansas, starting the wrestling program at Northeast Community College in Norfolk, Neb. Char taught art at Northeast Community College as well as 20 years at Great Bend High School. She was active locally with Art, Inc., Barton Arts Center and currently with Artists At Large. The couple have a daughter, Christy Schultz of Great Bend.
