Dennis and Darla Carson of Ellinwood celebrated their 50th anniversary on June 18.
Dennis and Darla were united in marriage on June 18, 1966, in Montezuma, Darla’s hometown. Dennis grew up in Hamilton south of Emporia. They moved to Ellinwood in 1969, when Dennis took a teaching job at Ellinwood High. He started C & V Home Improvement in 1976, and remained at the helm until he sold the business in 2010. Darla was an educator, splitting time between co-owning her own preschool and the Head Start program. They have two children, Damon (Traci) of Longmont, Colo. and Shawna (Sheldon) Mosier of Towanda; five grandchildren, Dray, Hayden, Tanna, Carson, and Caris.
The couple celebrated with all their family on an Alaskan Cruise, and will celebrate as a couple on a New England bus tour this Fall.
