Donald and Patricia Halbower will celebrate their 60th anniversary on June 5.
Patricia Kramm and Donald Halbower were united in marriage on June 5, 1955, in Emporia. Don was a teacher of physics and chemistry. He then became a school administrator for 33 years. He was the principal of Great Bend High School for 28 of those years. Pat was a teacher of Spanish and French for 27 years in Stafford, Great Bend Junior and Senior High Schools and Barton County Community College. They have been residents of Great Bend for 51 years. The couple has three children, David and his wife, Christy, their four children and three grandchildren; Leslie and her husband, Doug Barrett, their three children and one grandchild; and Eric and his wife, Julie, and their two children.
The celebration of the 60th anniversary will take place later this summer, when more members of the family will be able to attend.
