Jack and Wilda Merten will celebrate their 60th anniversary on Feb. 23.
Wilda Whala and Jack L. Merten were united in marriage on Feb. 23, 1957, in Oklahoma City, Okla. They made their home in Great Bend. Jack retired after 48 years with the local power company. Wilda retired after 16 years with the Feldt Law Firm, and retired again after 10 years operating a yarn shop. The couple have two children, Lahree Jenkins and husband Ken Jenkins, and Michael L. Merten and wife Pamela Merten; and five grandchildren, Bradley Jenkins, Jacci Jenkins, Ryan Jenkins, Cordell Merten and Kyler Merten.
