George and Linda Plowman celebrated their 50th anniversary the weekend of Aug. 9 with family. They attended a surprise baseball game in Kansas City, Royals vs. Red-Sox, on Aug. 9, a family lunch and reception at Paisanos Restaurant in Lawrence, on Aug. 10 and Sunday picnic at Lone Star Lake, where George had proposed to Linda, on Aug. 11.
Linda Floro and George Plowman were  united in marriage on Aug. 10, 1963 in Lawrence. George was a pharmacist at Central Kansas Medical Center in Great Bend and Hays Medical Center before retiring. Linda was a Certified Med Aide at Great Bend Nursing Home, currently Great Bend Health and Rehab, and Cedar View Assisted Living in Hays before retiring. The couple has three children, Kevin (Mary) Plowman of Lawrence, Patti (Mike) Kasselman of Great Bend, and Penny (Doug) Lawson of Larned; eight grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
