Donna Bryant will celebrate her 80th birthday with a surprise party from 2 to 4 p.m. on Aug. 27 at UCC Church, 701 N. Fritz Ave. in Ellinwood. Hosts for the event will be Michele Bryant and Lynnae Partridge. Friends and family are invited.
Donna was born Aug. 29, 1931, in Barton County, to Roy and Betty Calhoun. She met her future husband Clarence Bryant on a date at the local roller rink. They were married on May 6, 1950. He died on March 4, 2005. She has two sons, Bruce (Michele) and Lyle (Lynnae) both of Ellinwood; and six grandchildren, Kathy, Kristine (Jeremy), Laci (Jeramy), Cody, Traci (James), and Erik (Liz). She is very proud of her mini football team of great-grandsons, Bryson, Braydn, Kaiden and Terrance.
A lifetime resident of Barton County, she has been a full time farmer’s wife, mother and homemaker. She loves to garden, do needle work, play cards and travel. Donna and Clarence spent time together going to polka events. They loved to dance.
