Fred W. Meyer, of Ellinwood, celebrated his 87th birthday on May 28. His family requests a card shower.
Fred was born on May 28, 1924, and was raised in Ellinwood where he was the business manager for the school district until his retirement in 1989. He moved to Great Bend where he lived until three years ago, when he moved to Yuma, Ariz. He has five children, Marlene and Gary Coble of Tucson, Ariz., Joyce and Darrell Riedel of Yuma, Ariz., John and Elaine Meyer of Great Bend, and Nancy and Dave Tucker and Norma and Lawrence Robl, all of Ellinwood; 22 grandchildren; and 41 great-grandchildren.
Fred suffered a massive heart attack on Jan. 1. It has been a long and slow recovery for him. He would enjoy hearing from his friends. Cards may be sent to him at 1703 S. Naples, Yuma, Ariz. 85364.
