Gladys Salmans, of Larned, celebrated her 80th birthday on Nov. 19 with a girls day out in Salina.
Gladys was born Nov. 19, 1931 to Chris and Ida Peterson in Jetmore. She graduated from Larned High School in 1950. In January. 1951 she married Robert Salmans. Gladys was a nurses aid for many years before becoming a registered nurse in 1972, until she retired in 1995.
Gladys has five children, Craig and Elaine Salmans of Larned, Cheryl and Mark Hoberecht and Carol Schartz, all of Great Bend and the late Dale Schartz, Christy and Dennis Riley of Wichita, and Cathy Fullmer of Healy; and 10 grandchildren, Kelsey Salmans, Derek, Andrea, Nicole Schartz, Nathan Riley, Vanessa and Travis Reece, Jace Hoberecht, Michael, Andy, and Wyatt Fullmer.
