Lavern Sovereign will celebrate her 90th birthday on Nov. 23 with a card shower. On Nov. 25 she will be honored with a dinner for the immediate family.
Lavern was born Nov. 23, 1920 in rural Claflin. A resident of Claflin all her life, she married Fred M. Sovereign. He died in March 1998. She has four children, Beverly Johnson of Rolla, Mo., Maxine Everett and Debra Krier also of Claflin, and the late Kimberly, who died in 1967; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and one great-greatgrandchild.
