Call for artists: Kansas Watercolor Society National Exhibition

“Shower of Light” by David R. Smith of Eden Prairie, Minn. Smith will be the juror of the Kansas Watercolor Society National Exhibition.

Mark Arts invites all North American artists to apply for the Kansas Watercolor Society National Exhibition, Nov. 20 - Jan. 16, 2021. 

Work must be ready to exhibit, created in the last two years and not previously exhibited in a Mark Arts exhibition. Each entry must be wholly designed and executed by the artist.  

The juror is David R. Smith of Eden Prairie, Minn. Smith is a signature member of the American Watercolor Society and National Watercolor Society, among others. To keep the paintings from getting too precise and to convey a feeling of aliveness, Smith utilizes a number of techniques such as working wet into wet, glazing, pouring, spattering and spraying. His work has received numerous awards at the state and national levels.

First place will be awarded $1,000, and numerous patron purchase awards are anticipated. Online submission deadline is 11:59 p.m. on Sept. 16. To enter go to www.markartsks.com/callforartists/.
