The members of Preceptor Pi Chapter of Beta Sigma Phi enjoyed a variety of things during February. Service Committee Chair Karen Reif offered several variations of decorated Easter Bunny bags to use for Easter gifts for the residents of River Bend. After choosing one design for males and one for females, the bags will be constructed at a later meeting and filled with candy to be delivered close to Easter.

Jeri Brozek prepared a quiz covering some of Beta Sigma Phi’s 87-year history and traditions and members enjoyed the competition and review. Judy Krebaum invited Lisa Zier, Circulation Manager of the GBPL to talk about the multitude of programs they offer. As a member of the large central Kansas library consortium and the Central Kansas Library System, this library has access to a huge number of books. Besides the obvious programs i.e. story hour and audio books, Lisa enthusiastically described the many other programs available, such as: book club, crafts, cooking class, various teen programs and a summer reading program servicing over 16,000 people.

After lunch at the Page, members chose Cindy Meitler, a 37-year member, as this year’s Valentine Queen.

She was presented with a crown, a pin and a beautiful yellow rose.
