Barton County 4-H was host to Regional 4-H Day at Great Bend High School on March 9th. Regional 4-H Day participants are the top presentations selected at their local county 4-H Day. The counties that are in our region are Ellsworth, Pawnee, Rice, Russell, Stafford and of course, Barton.
4-H Day gives 4-H members an opportunity to experience public presentations in from of an audience and a judge. In addition to developing public presentation skills, they also learn to work with other members from their club or their county.
In the project talk division, Dalton Dicks received an alternate top blue rating and Luke Wondra received a blue. In the public speaking competition, Kyle Blakeslee, Ellinwood Energizers and Anthony Broeder, Eureka Homesteaders received blue rating. In Extemporaneous Speaking, Bonny Boultinghouse, TLC Twisters, received the top purple rating and Anthony Broeder received a blue.
In Junior Demonstrations, Morgan Kaiser, TLC Twisters and Kirk Reisner, Hoisington Jets both received blue ratings. In the Senior Demonstration division, Hannah Mauler, Busy Buzzers 4-H Club and Cody Wondra, Ellinwood Energizers both received the top purple rating!
In the music performance room, Anthony Broeder received the top purple on his piano solo and Bonny Boultinghouse received the top rating on her vocal solo. Aubrey and Katherine Snapp presented the top purple vocal ensemble. Kirk Reisner received a blue rating on his instrumental solo and the Fabulous Five from Eureka Homesteaders and Hoisington Jets received a blue in the instrumental ensemble division.
In the talent division, Allyson Kaiser from the Busy Buzzers performed a dance and received an alternate blue ribbon. Kylie Broeder received top purple on her senior reading entry and Morgan Kaiser received a red rating on her junior reading. The Hoisington jets 4-H club presented a skit and placed with a blue and placed with an alternate blue on a novelty presentation.
