On Feb. 16th Barton County 4H hosted the Barton County Winter Classic Air Rifle match at the Expo grounds west of Great Bend.
4H’ers enrolled in the air rifle project from seven counties in central and western Kansas came to compete. The kid’s from Barton County represented the county well.
In the 7 to 9 year old division, Will Clark from Great Bend placed 1st, Brady Wharton from Great Bend placed 2nd and Landen Hammeke from Great Bend placed 3rd. Also competing in this age group from Barton county was Nick Kohman from Great Bend and Caden Rowan from Ellinwood.
In the 10 to 11 year old division, Dalton Dicks from Great Bend placed 1st and Logan Hammeke from Great Bend placed 3rd.
In the 12 to 13 year old division, Katelyn Reh from Ellinwood placed 1st. Parker Smith from Great Bend placed 2nd. Other Barton county 4H’ers in this division were Kyle Clasen from Great Bend and Anthony Mosier from Great Bend.
In the 14 and older age division, Ryan Kohman from Great Bend placed 3rd. Also competing in this division from Barton county was Jake Kohman from Great Bend, Lake Lyman from Ellinwood and Caleb Straub from Great Bend.
The Barton County team of Ryan Kohman, Jake Kohman, Katelyn Reh and Parker Smith placed 2nd.
The team travels to Ellis county on March 2nd for their next match.
