Each year the Barton County Thread Bender’s quilt guild makes a quilt as a fundraiser to raise money for projects during the year. This years winner of the quilt is Shawna Hughes from Hoisington. The winning ticket was drawn at the December meeting. Shawna was able come to the meeting to pick up her quilt. This year’s quilt was designed and created by Eloise Winkleman.
The purpose of the guild is to teach the art of making quilts and other sewing techniques. Anyone with an interest in sewing is invited. The Barton County Thread Benders meet at 1 p.m. on the third Friday of the month at the Great Bend First Presbyterian Church on 24th Street. Visitors are welcome.
