Seven Great Bend Desk & Derrick club members attended the 56th annual regional meeting in Bartlesville, Okla. held at the famous Frank Phillips Tower Center. Sharon Hiss, GBD&D club member is serving as 2011 Region VI Director and welcomed attendees to the convention with her theme “Living Our Visions & Achieving Our Goals”. She conducted all aspects of the educational event that included business sessions, seminars,field trips and awards ceremonies. Tours were taken to the ConocoPhillips Pipe Line Co., Frank Phillips home, Price Tower and the Nellie Johnstone-Oklahoma’s 1st commercial oil well. Region VI is comprised of 11 clubs from Kansas and Oklahoma. The Association of Desk and Derrick Clubs in an international energy education organization with over 2,500 members in the United States and Canada. Association dignitaries also in attendance included President Angie Duplissis and President Elect Judi Adams. The 2011 ADDC convention will be held in St Louis Mo in September where the 60 club presidents and members will meet to elect officers for 2012 and continue the pursuit of the associations’ motto “Greater Knowledge-Greater Service”.
