Ft Larned DAR discusses centennials

LARNED — The Fort Larned Chapter of the National Society of Daughters American Revolution met on April 10 at Jordaan Memorial Library. Members in attendance were Donna Campbell, Donnitta Plowman, Janet Skelton, Cathy Schoonover, Oleta Beckwith, Brenda Van Meter and Cynthia Perez.
Donna Campbell talked about the American’s Creed being 100 years old. The American’s Creed is the title of a resolution passed by the U.S. House of Representatives on April 3, 1918. Also discussed was celebrating the National Park Centennial from American Spirit magazine. Campbell also spoke of John Quincy Adams’ wife Louisa. Van Meter had a short program on the founding fathers.
