Fund Raiser for Claflin Lions Club

The Claflin Lions Club Annual Seafood Buffet will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. on March 16 at the Catholic Church Parish Hall. Ticket prices for the all you can eat buffet are $15 for adults, $12 for seniors 65 and older, and $6 for children under 12 and are available now through Friday morning, March 16th at Pistol Pete’s Nuts and Bolts Company in Great Bend, from any Claflin Lions Club member or phone (620)587-3560 or (620)793-2922 for more information. Tickets will also be available at the door on the day of the event, but will be an additional $1.
The menu for the evening will include all you can eat servings of fish, shrimp, clam chowder, crab salad, scalloped potatoes, vegetables, bread, coffee or tea.
Lions Club members will also be accepting donations of your old eyeglasses, hearing aids, bicycles and bicycle parts. The eyeglasses and hearing aids are taken to a sorting facility in Texas and eventually sent to developing countries for distribution. The bicycles and parts are taken to the Ellsworth Correctional Facility for the Bicycle Recycle Program. Bikes and parts can be dropped off the night of the event, inquire at the ticket table for help with unloading. The eyeglasses and hearing aids can be dropped off at the ticket table when you enter the building.
Proceeds from the Annual Seafood Buffet are used for Claflin and Barton County area events and activities including the Annual Claflin Easter Egg Hunt in the city park, Claflin Community Scholarship Program, the purchase of eyeglasses for the needy, to help support the Kansas Lions State Band representatives from Claflin High School, for Barton County Community College scholarship donations, donations for Leader Dogs for the blind, donations to the Clara Barton Hospital, Bicycle Recycle Program, local Bicycle Safety Day, and many other local events.
