Recently Golden Sheaf Chapter #226 Order of the Eastern Star, met and Grand Representatives of other Grand Jurisdictions in Kansas were honored. Golden Sheaf has three members serving in this capacity. They are Barbara Lear, Grand Representative of Tennessee in Kansas, Richard Tennet Grand Representative of British Columbia and Youkon in Kansas and Carol Anderson Grand Representative of Missouri in Kansas. The function of a Grand Representative is to foster friendship and fellowship with members of other Grand Jurisdictions. Most appointments are for a two year term but there are some that are three years as well. All three Grand Representatives will communicate with their counterpart and perhaps meet them in person at an Eastern Star event.
The Order of the Eastern Star members are dedicated women and men who sincerely reflect the spirit of fraternal love and the desire to work together for good. It gives them the opportunity to give a part of their time to many projects that benefit mankind. The Order’s lessons are scriptural, its purposes are beneficent, and the teachings are moral.
