Great Bend Pilots shine at annual convention

The Kansas- Missouri District of Pilot International held the 66th annual convention in Topeka, Kansas April 29th and 30th.
Attending the convention from the Pilot Club of Great Bend (pictured) were Sally O’Connor, Mary Cramer, Carol Dellinger, Nancy Rogers, Marilyn Kopke, Rhonda Knudson, Joyce Beadles-Fry, Betty Schneider, Renee Johnson and Janice Walker. Not pictured but attending from the Pilot Club of Bartlesville, Oklahoma was Rose Hammerschmidt, a former member of the Great Bend Pilot club.
The convention attendees attended educational workshops and were inspired by service projects from various clubs throughout the district.  Great Bend Pilot’s received awards for club operations, Sally O’Connor was recognized with first place for the yearbook; Carol Dellinger, received second place for the Newsletter and Rhonda Knudson, first place for growth and communication.
On Saturday night, Renee Johnson was installed to the highest office of the KS-MO district; she will serve as the District Governor in the coming 2016-2017 club year. Renee is an original charter member of the Great Bend Pilot club and has been an active and vital member of Pilot for over 27 years, and has served in various offices at the local, state and international level. Also serving in the upcoming year from Great Bend will be Mary Cramer, District Projects coordinator and Nancy Rogers, District Chaplain.
Pilot International was founded in Macon Georgia in 1921, Pilot International as a global organization has been dedicated to service for nearly a century, committed to “Do More, Care More & Be More”, Pilot’s mission to serve by furthering Pilot International’s efforts through charitable, educational and community programs, the clubs of Pilot International provide financial and “hands on” support and promotion of youth development & leadership, brain safety and fitness initiatives and championing projects that celebrate and support family caregivers of all kinds.
