On April 17, Rep. Roger Marshall addressed the Great Bend Rotary club. He emphasized that, at least among the freshman representatives, collaboration and collegiality were the rule rather than the exception. The health-care bill is still being worked on, and he looks forward to good, positive results with economic and tax reform issues as well.
Dr. Marshall noted that while all the problems facing the country may not be solved quickly, he is confident that most of what he and his fellow representatives were sent to Washington to do will be addressed, and he is heartened by the fact that many in his freshman class are business people, physicians, and are from other professions than that of career politics.
