Larned Quilting Bees meet
Larned Indians clr NEW

LARNED — Members of the Larned Quilting guild met May 16 for a short meeting due to inclement weather.
Final plans were made for the Quilting Celebration in the fellowship hall of the First Presbyterian Church, 8th and Morris, Larned. The free event will be held at the church from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. Saturday, June 3.
The public is invited to demonstrations by the guild, Peddler’s Korner, infomercials, covered dish luncheon at noon, coffee breaks, numerous door prizes provided by local quilt shops, and free materials.
The featured speaker is Wichita’s Beverly Seifert “New Concepts in Sewing and Quilting.”
Ann Hicks requested quilts and quilt items and half square triangles items for display at the Quilt Celebration.
Rita Schaller reported on visiting a quilt shop in Topeka and attending an outdoor quilt show.
Members displayed the Row by Row quilt blocks and exchanged the new one for the month of June.
Diane Schultz of Great Bend displayed a Quilt of Valor just completed.
The next regular quilting meeting is scheduled at 7 p.m. June 6. Members are encouraged to complete projects for the Pawnee County 4-H Fair in July.
