League of Women Voters of Great Bend will meet at noon on Tuesday at Classic Inn.
The program will be provided by Barton County Appraiser Barb Esfeld. She will be speaking about office operations, the problems that arise and how these problems are handled. She will talk about how an appraisal is made on property and the other steps it goes through before it becomes the written appraisal owners receive in the mail. She will discuss how the office must coordinate with the County Treasurer’s office and the County Clerk’s office. She will address how the procedure is handled when someone protests their taxes. The floor is open to questions.
Lunch will be available from the buffet or menu. Meetings are open to the public. League is a non-partisan organization devoted to informing and educating the voting public on national, state and local issues of importance. Membership is open to men and women.
