Local 4Hers travel to Pawnee County for Air Rifle Competition

On March 15, Barton County 4H’ers traveled to Pawnee County to compete in the Air Rifle competition of the Pawnee County Shootout. There were fifteen 4H’ers from Barton county, that competed in the air rifle competition.
In the 7 and 8 year old division, Caylee Rowan from Ellinwood placed first.
In the 9 to 11 year old division, Dalton Dicks, from Great Bend, placed first. Will Clark, from Great Bend, placed 3rd. Logan Hammeke, from Great Bend, placed 5th. Also competing in this division were Brady Wharton, from Great Bend, Landen Hammeke, from Great Bend, Woodson Corbett, from Ellinwood, Caden Rowan, from Ellinwood and Kadin Welch, from Great Bend.
In the 12 and 13 year old division, Katelyn Reh, from Ellinwood, placed first and Parker Smith, from Great Bend, placed 2nd.
In the 14 and older division, Ryan Kohman, from Great Bend, placed 7th. Lake Lyman, from Ellinwood, placed 8th. Caleb Straub, from Great Bend, placed 10th. Also competing in the division was Aron Vainer, from Great Bend.
The Barton County Team made up of Lake Lyman, Katelyn Reh, Parker Smith and Ryan Kohman placed 2nd.
This was the last regular season match for the kids. The State Match will take place on April 12 and Barton County will be sending seven 4H’ers, who have shot qualifying scores, to compete against 4H’ers from across the state.
