Mary Cramer, local Pilot Club president, and Renee Johnson were recognized at the conference for 25 years of dedicated Pilot service, and District leader and past local President Rhonda Knudson also attended.
The 2013-2014 International president Judy Langley from Darlington, SC., met with hundreds of Pilot members hailing from the U.S., Japan, Canada, the Bahamas and Singapore who convened in New Orleans LA, July 10-14 for the 2013 Pilot international annual Convention and Leadership Conference at the Sheraton New Orleans Hotel where Langley was installed as 2013-2014 Pilot international President Saturday July 13.
Each year, Pilots from around the Globe gather for the Pilot International Annual Convention and Leadership conference to participate in valuable leadership training seminars, informative workshops and fundraising events for the Pilot International Founders fund. This years’ special guest speakers included author and philanthropist Suzy Toronto and author and non-profit teamwork and leadership expert Dr. Kathy Sturgis.
Now in its 92nd year, Pilot international is an international volunteer service organization. Pilots provide financial and hands on support for numerous national and local initiatives in keeping with the organization’s “ABC’s” – Anchor Clubs [Youth Development & Leadership], Brain Safety & Fitness and Caring for Families in times of Need. In addition to local Pilot’s many community based activities, Pilot International created and maintains the BrainMinders TM family of Brain Safety initiatives, the “Think H.A.P.P.Y. Be H.A.P.P.Y. Be BRAIN Fit!” public awareness campaign, the “ Pick Me Ups” community initiative for family Caregivers, and Pilot international was instrumental in establishing the second week in November as International Care & Kindness Week.
The Pilot international mission is “To serve by furthering Pilot International’s humanitarian efforts through charitable, educational, and research programs in communities throughout the world.”
