Chari Miller presented the program on Leonard Bernstein. Bernstein, born April 25, 1918 and died
Oct. 14, 1990, was one of the most well known composers in the United States. Leonard Bernstein was noted for having an interest in a genre of music such as Jazz, Symphony, Opera, Broadway. He taught at Tanglewoodr 50 years. He taught a series of concerts for children called ((Young People’s Concerts” which was performed with the New York Philharmonic. One of his most popular books is ((The Joy of Music.” His well known musicals are “West Side Story” and “Candide”. He was married to Felicia Monteulegre and they had three children and four grandchildren. Chari played some excerpts of his teaching programs.
