On March 3, Parnassus Club held their annual piano and voice auditions at the Barton Community College Fine Arts Building.
For this audition, the voice students perform two art songs memorized and piano students perform one memorized solo for an adjudicator, who then writes an evaluation of the student’s performance and selects winners in both the Junior and Senior divisions. Tiffiney Harms, McPherson music instructor adjudicated the event.
Junior Piano Division Award was McKenna Cape, first place. Junior Voice Division Award was Haley Troyer, first place. Senior Piano Division awards were BrayLynn Anshutz, first place; Luke Maneth, second place; and Baleigh Fry, third place. Senior Voice awards were Ethan Wedel, first place; Katherine Snapp, second place; and Allison Muth, third place. Honorable Mention Voice awards were Maddie Pata and Audrey Muth.
Area music teachers with students participating include Karole Erikson, Lorrie Stickney, Becky Dudrey, Darlene Boley and Glenna Gaunt.
