Preceptor Pi hosts Founders Day Celebration

Preceptor Pi chapter of Beta Sigma Phi hosted the Beta Sigma Phi Founder’s Day celebration on April 26, at First Christian Church. “Mexican Fiesta” was the theme for the celebration. The meal was catered by Delgado’s and members provided a colorful “Fiesta” atmosphere with crepe paper hot peppers and lights. Bright crepe paper flowers made festive table centerpieces.
Members of the three Great Bend chapters of Beta Sigma Phi participated in the event. Guests included members of the former Theta Master chapter.
Chapters honored outstanding members. Award recipients were Jeri Brozek, Woman of the Year and Janis Link, Sister of the Year, for Preceptor Pi. Members of Laureate Kappa, Linda Sisson received the Golden Circle honor for 50 years in Beta Sigma Phi and Anne Schenkel was named Woman of the Year. Xi Delta Upsilon honored all of its chapter members.
Members of Theta Master conducted a memorial ritual for their chapter member, Natalie Ruble, who died April 6. She was a member of Beta Sigma Phi for close to 60 years. Natalie’s daughter, Kim Hekele, was a guest for Founder’s Day and the memorial ritual.
Jeri Brozek, president of Preceptor Pi, led the celebration. Lois Johnson, Preceptor Pi vice president, read the Beta Sigma Phi International official communication from President Laura Ross Wingfield announcing the 2016-17 Beta Sigma Phi theme, “Beta Sigma Phi, We Put Our Hearts Into It.”
