Preceptor Pi Chapter of Beta Sigma Phi met Oct. 2 at the home of Janis Link. President Jeri Brozek led the meeting attended by 10 chapter members.
Kyle Krebaum, co-founder of the Makinna Ann Hope Foundation, was guest speaker presenting an overview of goals for the Foundation. Plans to have special-needs playground equipment put into place in a local park are closer to being fulfilled. Anyone interested in learning more about the Foundation and its progress with the special-needs playground project may visit the web site, www.MakinnaAnnHopeFoundation.org, which will also present opportunities for donating to the Foundation and information about fund-raising for the new playground.
Judy Krebaum, service chair, reported her committee had delivered a gift card to a military family, Josh and Heather Hill, who came to Great Bend to re-establish their home in civilian life. In October, the chapter will make a monetary donation to Healing Hearts Ranch to help feed a horse for a month.
Social chair Lois Johnson let members know about the October social, which will be an October Fest excursion to Hays on Saturday, Oct. 13, for shopping and lunch at Gella’s. Plans are also being made for the Sister Chapter Social with Laureate Kappa in January.
Ways and means chair Karen Reif reported on the recent Reception Sisters project in which six chapter members assisted with a wedding reception to raise money for the chapter’s service projects.
The next meeting of Preceptor Pi will be at 7 p.m. on Oct. 16 at the home of Lois Johnson, who will also serve as co-hostess and present the program.
